Review: The Game Plan
The Game Plan by Kristen Callihan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Oh gosh, let's give it up to Ethan Dexter everyone. I never knew I could read and fall in love with a male virgin but good golly, I did when I read this book. Has to be my favorite of the series. Ethan is everything that I love in a guy. He's tatted up, pierced, THE BEARD and a man bun. Mmmm, I totally was dreaming about Jason Momoa while reading this story. Ethan is like the father of the group. He keeps everyone calm and collected, he's a thinker and a watcher, he's VERY loyal to his friends but what happens when the calm guy does over the edge? THIS happens and Ethan broke in a BIG way. When he shaved, I cried. Yes that was the straw that broke the camel's back, I didn't cry at the gushy stuff (although I did went aww) but when Ethan broke down and came back to Fi all bare, oh man I was all ugly crying. He was such the sweetest thing in this story you couldn't help but fall in love with this magnificent man. Enough about my lumberjack. Fiona Mackenzie. Ivy's little sister. I really enjoyed her when we met her in Gray's book. She was such a joy. I want to be her best friend. In Gray's story she came off as a little flighty and a spoil little brat that always seems to just have sex and party, but man did she do some growing up in the last two years. She became this great young woman that I would so want to hang with. She and Ethan complimented each other. Where he was serious, quiet and calm, she was loud, expressive and always brings out the best of Ethan and lights up his world. I loved watching these two interact on the page. Yes there was a bit of angst, but with great Kristen fashion, it was cleared up pretty quickly and not dragged out. This book was also hilariously written, I love it because the writer seems to suffer from the same sarcastic, childish humor I suffer with. I'm glad we got to kick it with Gray and Drew and some of the other guys from the old college team. Glad all my boys found their happiness. Waiting for a novella with all of them together again and to see what's new. I'm so glad Goodreads recommended this author to me.
