Review: Never Been Kissed
Never Been Kissed by C.M. Kars
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I have a love/hate relationship with this book. Loved the story. It was touching, beautiful, loving and Matty is the kid everyone wants. He was simply put, the most adorable child ever written in a book. The hate spawns with these other characters, the leads. I HATED them. Sera, girl my goodness love yourself? She's this awesome nerd that is very relatable to me because she's basically me, but bitch, damn....LOVE>>>YOUR>>>>SELF!!! The amount of self hate this girl had for herself, then had the balls to think if Hunter can't love himself she can't love him. -__- HEFFER?!! siGh. She keeps saying, she's too ugly, she's too fat, she's not lovable. Her monologues became annoying FAST! Also, all the TV references became old fast too. I love a person who respects the Hiddleston and can watch Dean Winchester all day, but damn girl have normal conversations and stop quoting TV shows/movies. Her best friend Katie kept instilling into her that she is worthy and Sera just believes she's not. Hunter....hmmm he was hot but I didn't like him either. Actually I was afraid of him up until the end. He has diabetes but has a SHITLOAD of issues and self loathing, omg these two were meant for each other. Then he's borderline bipolar to boot. I thought his big secret was that he was also mentally unstable, but nope, he just becomes this raging manipulative, verbally abusive bastard because he hates himself for being a diabetic and when his sugar is low. I read how this guy would manipulate the hell out of Sera just to get her back and she keeps......going......back! Only to have them fight and break it off again. Then this asshole is SO mean to Matty in a few scenes. Like asshole, he's 4 and also has diabetes like you, WTF??? But Sera became awesome when she told his ass off and his mother and Hunter won me in the end when he keeps telling this idiot that he loves her for her nerdy ass and Loki panties until she finally accepts it. Tie in an old flame who's a money grubbing bitch, and you have angst for dayssssss in this book. It's a good book, it's funny, sweet and makes you want to cry. But it also makes your blood boil and ,makes you want to set shit on fire.
