Maleficent
I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream........Here we have Disney giving up yet another beautiful and twister version of the villain from Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent. This was such an enchanting story. It was so visually stunning. Ms. Angelina Jolie-Pitt did a bang up job being the Queen of evil. Elle Fanning as Aurora was such a sweetheart in this. I wonder if her jaws hurt making this film because all she mostly did was look pretty and smile all the damn time. But alas, Disney has changed our minds about the magnificent Maleficent. We were taking back, way back to the beginning of how evil was born. Maleficent was your everyday, kind, laid back fairy that fly around carefree and played with the forest creatures until one day she met a Prince by the name of Stefan. She thought to be in love until they were older and he basically betrayed her, stole her wings just to became King. Throughout the movie King Stefan was kind of a giant DICK!! (Humans can't trust them....am I right?) This is where we get a glimpse of Maleficent making her transition into the evil Queen we remembered from the stories, Stefan became king, married and had a baby girl by the name of Aurora. Now we all know the story plus original cartoon where on her 16th birthday she would prick her finger and sleep for 100 years until she is awoken by true love's kiss, but Disney decided to give us a little twist in this live-action movie. Although she was evil. Maleficent still had the love in her heart for Aurora by help raising her along with her henchman/bff Davial the Raven, unbeknownst to the three dumb witted fairies. (Sidenote: Angie's little girl Vivienne played young Aurora and she's the cutest thing EVER.) We even see her trying to reverse the spell to stop the curse. But eventually she does prick her finger and falls asleep. Now I won't ruin the end here for those who haven't seen this yet, but there is such a heartbreaking and beautiful twist as to who wakes up Sleeping Beauty. Also a Disney flick isn't without its happy ending and this one was splendid. So go people, grab your kids and take them to see this movie. It was magnificent and will make you love Maleficent more for she was my favorite villain growing up. You won't be disappointed seeing this. As to those bitching about that's not how the story goes? Well grow up!!! It's a re-make and it was well done. Ya'll should be bitching about Snow White and the Huntsman because this was a far better remake than that loaded piece of crap. Enjoy the movie! :)
