Oculus

Oh this movie was trippy as hell. I usually hate watching anything associated with WWE Studios (eg, Knucklehead) *shivers* but this one was a surprisingly great movie. You didn't know what was real or mirrored. What do you know, it even had its own version of Sam Winchester! So this movie centers around this weird mirror that kills you and this sister brother duo trying to destroy whatever is in the mirror ten years later. Side note the movie bounces from the past back to the present so PAY ATTENTION! So the sister in the present goes hunting for the mirror because the brother could care less. So she finds it, grabs her brother who just came out of prison and they go back into their old house from the past all because they made some dumb pact that they would destroy the mirror demon. So they do this weird Ghost Hunter like experiment where they film themselves giving us more information about the mirror.  We learned that the Dad killed the Mom, then the brother who was like 10 shot his Dad dead. So the sister is on this weird conspiracy theory that the mirror did it. And all the while the brother is just there thinking "yea this bitch is crazy" So we bounce back to the past where we see how all the murder and mayhem went down with their Dad. And some freaky shit just keeps happening. So back in the present the brother and sister were remembering the past differently and were basically mind f*king the audience. The brother was annoyingly naive and I was just waiting there hoping for the mirror to eat his ass. So the mirror makes them do stuff they don't remember doing and after we get this realization shit just went downhill from there. We get to see the family from the past deteriorate and the mirror coming fully alive making the mother go insane like the Amityville House family.  So at this point in the movie, the sister is the only sane one standing or so we thought. The Dad now hate his kids and isolates himself in the office where the mirror is. So more bouncing back and forth to the past and present until it finally merges and we don't know what's real and the audience becomes alcoholics trying to figure this crap out. So the mother in the past is crazy insane and the dad has her chained to the bed and young Kailey and Tim are fighting for their lives in the past as they are in the present. Might I add the brother was a serious pussy. Thank god for the sister or he wouldn't have lasted this long in the movie.  Anyways the monsters now are these glassy eyed images of their friends and family making them do all this horrible stuff which they feed on or get stronger. The sister has been choked out so much on this show I'm surprised she could have talked. So the brother being a giant dumb-ass did the worst thing possible which basically put everything back in motion again. Crazy ending so I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it. This was a great horror, mostly a psychological thriller. The tension, setting and music was what kept you at the edge of your seat with this one. I would recommend this too anyone. As of right now people just go shatter every freaking mirror you have in your house....RIGHT NOW!!!  10/10
